Schuldt, daughter of Don and Lou Ann (Miatke) Schuldt '72, won six varsity letters in her four years at SHS, four in golf and two in basketball. Ember was an NCIC 1st team selection each year in golf and was also named captain and MVP all four years. Ember ended her SHS golf career with three NCIC championships, two regional championships, one sectional championship, four appearances in the state finals, and two state medals. She earned a third place state medal in both her junior and senior seasons. Ember will be remembered as far-and-away the best female golfer in Sterling history.On the basketball court, Ember helped her team finish with a 21-11 record in her junior season. During her senior basketball season, the Warriors finished with a record of 22-9 and recaptured the NCIC championship.In the classroom, Ember was also a force, earning NCIC All-Academic honors during her junior and senior years in both sports. Schuldt was also selected to the IHSA All-State academic team as an honorable mention in her senior year. Not only did she excel in the classroom, but Schuldt was also involved in Key Club, Science Club, and National Honor Society. She served as a D.A.R.E. role model, junior Rotarian, and junior class treasurer.Schuldt’s state and national accomplishments are also impressive: 46th in American Junior Golf Association rankings for the class of 2010; three AJGA top 10 finishes, including a runner-up finish at the AJGA John Deere Classic; 2008 Illinois Junior Golf Association Junior Girls Champion (2009 runner-up); 2009 USGA Women's Public Links winner; 2009 Mid-American Junior Golf Tour All-Midwest girls champion.When Ember isn’t golfing, she enjoys playing other sports, reading, listening to music, and watching movies. Currently Ember is attempting a professional golfing career, and coaches the SHS girl's golf team part-time as well.
