Sean Bright, the son of Gary and Jackie Bright, was involved in basketball, football, and track while attending Sterling High School. He earned three varsity letters in football where he played the quarterback position and was the punter. Sean was a captain of the undefeated 2005 football team and was an all-area and all conference performer.Sean also was a four year performer in track where he was an elite performer in the conference. As a freshmen, Sean was the Frosh-Soph NCIC Champion in the high jump in 2003. Sean finsished his NCIC track career by being a 3-event NCIC champion in the long jump, high jump, and 110 high hurdles. Sean then capped his stellar Sterling High School track career by being crowned the IHSA Class AA Sterling Sectional Champion in the high jump. Sean was named the 2006 Boys’ Track Most Valuable Performer. On the basketball court, Sean led the team in steals and was named the 2005-06 Most Valuable Player. Sean was also the captain of the basketball and track teams his senior year.The list of Sean’s accomplishments were certainly not limited to athletics. In 2005, Sean earned IHSA All-State First Team honors in Group Interpretation as he led his team to the 2005 IHSA State Championship. He was also an All-State Cast Member in 2006.
