Michael Schneiderbauer ’12 is the son of Joe ’80 and Denise Schneiderbauer. Schneiderbauer is a three-sport athlete who has earned varsity letters in football, swimming, and track. As a member of the football team, Schneiderbauer was named a NIB-12 All-Academic athlete in both his junior and senior years. As a senior, he was also honored with the titles of NIB-12 West All-Conference athlete and as the Sauk Valley Media All-Area First Team linebacker. For the 2011 season, Schneiderbauer had 45 tackles and 3.5 sacks and received the Most Improved Defense Award.In swimming, Schneiderbauer was also named a member of the all-academic team in his senior year. He was the recipient of the 2011 Hustle Award and, at the Rock Island Sectional, he broke James Eshleman’s 50 free record in a time of 22.13, missing state qualifying time by just .15.As a senior on the track, Schneiderbauer was a NIB-12 Conference champion in the 110 hurdles (15.71) and the pole vault(14-9). He was runner-up in the 300 hurdles with a time of 40.97. At the IHSA Rochelle Sectional Track Meet, Schneiderbauer won the pole vault (14-1) and the 110 hurdles (14.84) and finished in second in the 300 hurdles (40.35), earning three state berths.Schneiderbauer’s track career ended at Eastern Illinois University’s O’Brien Stadium, as he participated in three events: pole vault, 110 hurdles, and 300 hurdles. In the 110 hurdles, he qualified for Saturday’s finals with a time of 14.86. Schneiderbauer cleared 13-6 in the preliminaries, but bowed out after failing to make 14-0. He was named a NIB-12 All-Conference all-academic athlete both years. Schneiderbauer was named team MVP for 2012.Outside of sports, Schneiderbauer has been involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and National Honor Society. He enjoys jet-skiing, fishing, tennis, pond hockey, four-wheeling, and biking.
