Tanner Morse '13 is the son of Dustin and Stacey (Lutz) Morse '89. Tanner played three sports throughout high school and earned two varsity letters in football, three in swimming and diving, and four in baseball. He received honorable mention Academic All-State honors for all three sports.In football, Tanner was named a NIB-12 All-Conference athlete and a NIB-12 All-Academic athlete during both his junior and senior years. He was also named Second Team All-Area his junior year and First Team All-Area his senior year. For team honors during his senior year, he was selected team captain, Offensive MVP and Team MVP. As a member of the baseball team, Tanner was twice named a NIB-12 All-Conference athlete as well as being twice named a NIB-12 All-Academic athlete. As a junior he received Second Team All-Area honors and was chosen First Team All-Area as a senior. During both his junior and senior seasons, he was named MVP and team captain. During his senior year he also was chosen for the Quad Cities All-Metro team and named the Sauk Valley Media Baseball Player of the Year.Besides sports, Tanner was involved in BLIND/Assets and Service Learning all four years. He was also a treasurer for Giving Power to Adolescents. He was involved with National Honor Society, and also named an Illinois State Scholar, as well as a four-year Junior Rotarian. Through his work with Service Learning, Tanner helped with the Wounded Warriors Project, and the Repair Blackhawk Restoration.Tanner's hobbies include baseball, football, and swimming.
